At 9.45am , I went down to have big south-asia, SEAsia, east meet west Big breakfast .Soon have to wear sari to hide everything i put on around my waist . Today is the first school day for the American school , so i thought i wouldn't see my Moroccan friend , F, and her daughter, S. But as i wondered among the good food buffet tables i saw her walked in with sarah not looking happy ,: i was happy to see her though , because i collected some leaflets for her when i went to the trade fair yesterday. I went up to give her a big hug to release our 'subconscious stress' and comfort each other , i think. Anyway , she said she was mad when she went to her apartment yesterday because the company people give her the furniture she doesn't like , she asked them to take away all , and i think in the process of sorting things out ,she had a fight with her husband over the furniture etc etc . But she said is ok her shipment will come in 6 weeks time ,I dare not tell her could be longer . My is still in beijing , but when i start to ship it , i do not think will be 6 weeks as i was told , any timing given is only a guide line , it might take 7 weeks or more , depending on all the unforeseen 'human factors' , and boxes will be opened , things will be missing , liquor bottles will be half- filled , I am worried that my vintage vinegar from Shanxi will be mistaken as liquor ; there go my specially recipe for black fungus cold dish.
F said today is her last day in westin , but will come back often ,as she signed the bill; i will do the same , i said , we all need something familiar for comfort. And she is all ready to go to apartment to get things going , i think she felt bad about shouting at people yesterday. She said the people are nice , the place is terrible , is unlike anywhere she has lived , she keep talking about egypt , congested, crazy drivers but not like this, as she pointed to the street. She is pointing to a street that is equal to orchard road. That make me think of the 5c's in this country : congested , chaotic , corruptions , clean-less and commotion. I tell myself when i move out I will not shout but will laugh if i get mad , yea, if i am mad not crazy.
Actually when she told me her company is going to get her furniture when i met her , i was thinking what a great help , because my company is not helping me to get things or rather i didn't ask for help , because after i went around to look at furniture it is hard to find ready available simple like Ikea kind of furniture that i like , either too 'palace' looking kind or 'damn ugly looking' but good wood kind .so no point to ask for help from locals regarding decorating a place. I will sleep on mattress only and landlord will lend me a set of old wooden clean simple small sofa set.
